So if any of you all have thrown a party before – which I’m sure you all have, then you already know the most important piece to throwing a successful party – always end on a good note…
For Drew and I, that meant hosting a massive Vanderbilt vs Ole Miss themed farewell brunch. The reason we chose this theme was because we both attended those universities and they actually happened to play each other in football on the day of our wedding. Vanderbilt beat Ole Miss (of course).
During the brunch we had the most insane food and beverage stations filled with freshly brewed Kona coffee, freshly squeezed juices, a mimosa bar, fruit yogurt parfaits with granola, smoked salmon, bacon, chicken sausage, other breakfast meats, breakfast potatoes, omelette chefs who made any type of omelette (including shrimp omelette), pancake chefs who made buckwheat pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, macadamia nut pancakes, buttermilk pancakes and whole-wheat pancakes, topped with berries, coconut flakes, maple syrup, coconut syrup, whipped compote, or whipped cream, plus my FAVE station – a “make your own Acai bowl station”…and of course a large dessert station!
Since our entire wedding was extremely personalized, my favorite “personal touches” at the brunch were: our custom Vandy/ole miss water bottles, the SEC cupcakes, Drew’s red velvet Ole Miss birthday cake, custom “C” and “D” cornhole boards, and our custom Cracker Jack boxes that we gave to our guests as farewell favors.
