Hey guys! I have officially been in Boston for about a week and a half now and I'll be honest, between unpacking all of our stuff from Spring Training, to attending Red Sox games, and planning Christopher's Haven annual fashion show, this past week has been a total whirlwind. On top of that, I also took a quick trip to NYC to visit my mom and spent a few days taking care of our puppy who got sick. Luckily, we are almost all settled into our new apartment and enjoying the beautiful city of Boston!
Although I've been busy, I absolutely love Boston so far! The city is full of so much energy from all of the college students who live here, and the passion that the Boston natives have for the Red Sox is truly something special. There are also more Whole Foods in Boston than I've ever seen in any other city...which is amazing!
Drew and I have had the opportunity to go out to dinner twice so far and the two restaurants we've been to have been incredible. The first restaurant we went to was Yvonne's. This swanky supper club is a definite must for people visiting the Boston area. It has a sexy yet classy vibe and the food is unreal. Not surprising, we ordered everything on the menu.
The second restaurant we went to was Select Oyster Bar. My friend actually took me to this restaurant last year after Drew got traded to the Red Sox, and I fell in love with it. It's the coolest neighborhood spot with a buzzing atmosphere. Drew ordered a massive seafood platter (typical) and I ordered the halibut with brussels sprouts and mushrooms. Yum. I wish Drew had another day game so we could go back tonight!
Anyway, besides the restaurants and all of the unpacking and exploring we've been doing, my favorite part about living here has been meeting a ton of new friends through Corepower yoga, reconnecting with my Vanderbilt friends who are now in Boston, and hanging out with the other Red Sox wives who keep me company at the baseball games! Watching Drew's season debut at Fenway was pretty awesome too.
This weekend we will celebrate Easter at Fenway, since Drew is pitching on Sunday, and next week, I look forward to going to New York for a few days.
Hope you all have a great holiday weekend!
Xx
