Alright you guys… the most asked for recipe is finally here! As you know, Drew is from Tennessee so after meeting him I quickly learned how to make a bunch of southern desserts. Here is a delicious recipe that’s perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature, plus 2 tablespoons melted
1/4 cup packed light-brown sugar
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 large eggs
3/4 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 package (11.5 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips (2 cups)
2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
(Optional) Handful of unsweetened shredded coconut
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line bottom and sides of 9x13inch baking dish with foil.
Beat butter, brown sugar, flour, salt with electric mixer until coarse crumbs form.
Pour mixture into pan and press firmly into the bottom. Bake until lightly browned 20-25 minutes. Let cool, 10 minutes.
In the same bowl, mix eggs, corn syrup, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of melted butter with electric mixer until well combined. Add chocolate chips, pecans, (optional - handful of shredded coconut), and mix.
Spread mixture over crust and bake for another 20-25 minutes. Cool completely for a few hours before cutting into bars. Option to refrigerate if you want to seal in the chocolate after cutting into bars.
